Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

The drive from the airport to your hotel in Entebbe will take about 10-15 minutes, then if you stay in Kampala you will take about 45 minutes, depending on traffic. During this drive, your guide will give you a brief orientation of the city and answer any questions you may have about your trip.

Upon arrival at your hotel, you will check in and be given a brief overview of the facilities and services available. Then you  may choose to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel, exploring the city of Entebbe or engaging in other activities depending on your arrival time.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with stopover for Rhino Tracking

These lions are a unique sight to behold, as they are known to spend most of their time in the branches of fig trees. The tree-climbing lions of Ishasha have a unique behavior that has puzzled scientists for years. It is believed that they climb trees to escape the heat on the ground, avoid biting insects, and get a good view of their prey.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Visit Dance Experience

This day is the highlight of your safari as you embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will make your way to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers about the do’s and don’ts during the trek and to be assigned to a gorilla family group to visit.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park specifically a home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, with about 20 gorilla families that are habituated to human presence, making it the best place for gorilla trekking in the world. The gorillas live in the dense forests and tracking them can take anywhere between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family and the terrain of the forest.

Once you locate your assigned gorilla family, you will spend a maximum of one hour observing and interacting with them. You will get an up-close and personal experience of the gorillas in their natural habitat, observing them as they play, feed, groom and rest. You will also have the chance to take pictures and record videos to capture your amazing experience.

Batwa Community

After your gorilla trekking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch before heading out to visit the Batwa Community. The Batwa pygmies are an indigenous tribe that once lived in the forest and depended on the forest for their survival. However, they were displaced from their ancestral land when Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was gazetted into a national park, and they now live on the fringes of the park.

During your visit, you will learn about their traditional way of life and how they have adapted to living outside the forest. Lake Mburo National Park is a unique park in that it is the only park in Uganda that is home to impalas and zebras. In addition to these animals, the park is also home to other wildlife. Such as buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, and various bird species.
